Why would anyone not want to be a Morris Man?
Morris is so intrinsically British that things like a traditional English summer fete is not a real fete unless blessed with a visit from the Morris Men. It’s as British as, Wimbledon, Cream Teas, Cricket, and everything else that makes for that perfect British way of life.
With the first written records of Morris Dancing dating back almost 600 years it needs to be supported to ensure the next 600 years, so we invite you, to come along and try it out. If you like to keep fit, enjoy lively music, good friendship and want to get rid of some of life’s stress’s, then you are perfect and will help keep this great British tradition alive and well.
Morris has actually become quite popular in recent years with many young, and not so young, men taking it up, but locally it need more recruits. Not just from Ewell, we’ll take men from Epsom, Stoneleigh, Cheam, Ashtead, in fact anywhere.
Do not worry about never having done it before; no experience is necessary and learning is fun. Just pop along to one of Ewell Morris Men’s try out sessions at the Scout Hut, 106a West Street, Ewell KT17 1XR every Thursday evening, between October & April, or contact us through Facebook https://www.facebook.com/groups/887632641261549/ or our website. www.ewellmorris.co.uk
New Musicians also welcome, again, no experience required
