Remember St George’s Day

Sadly we will not be dancing in The City this year due to the Covid19 virus but some of us may dance individually at home.

Announcing the death of John Wharton

Sadly we must announce that one of our original members, John Wharton, passed away last Sunday at his care home. We had danced for him last Boxing Day.

It was to John, in 1979, that the then Vicar of St Mary’s Church, Ewell, turned when trying to work out how a team of morris dancers could be persuaded to dance at the Ewell Village Fair. John had a friend who had once danced with Stafford Morris Men and with the friend’s help and tuition a group of Ewell based men took up the morris. John danced with the team for the first year – but a couple of others are still dancing forty one years later!

Rest In Peace, John.

Coronavirus (COVID-19)
